Providence, R.I. - Brown seniors Nick Piroli (Black River, NY) and Nick Weeden (Broad Run, VA) have been named to the 2015 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Academic All-New England Team. Both played significant roles in helping Brown to a 12-5 record, the Ivy League Championship and NCAA Playoff berth.

A midfielder for the Bears, Piroli had a comeback season after missing all of last year due to injury. He responded in the season opener for the 2015 season against Quinnipiac with two goals and two assist. Playing in the first midfield, he scored 10 goals and ranks second on the Brown team with 24 assists. Piroli, who had a goal and three assists vs. Dartmouth, came up big in Brown’s win over #10 Cornell with two goals and an assist. A BEO concentrator, he had two assists vs. Yale and had a key goal in the Bears win over #9 Princeton.

Weeden is one of the unsung heroes of the lacrosse team, playing a major role in the defensive midfield. He picked up 15 ground balls and registered two goals, scoring against Quinnipiac and Bucknell. A Biology concentrator, Weeden also chipped in with four assists for the season.
