Brine and Warrior Make Record Equipment Donation to US Lacrosse Foundation

BALTIMORE, August 22, 2014 — The US Lacrosse Foundation received a record equipment donation from Brine, Inc. and Warrior Sports, Inc., exceeding $1,000,000 in retail value.  The donated equipment will be distributed through US Lacrosse’s Sport Development department, primarily through the US Lacrosse First Stick program, to deserving and emerging youth lacrosse programs throughout the United States.

“As one of the original lacrosse equipment manufacturers, Brine has a long history of helping grow the game.  We are excited to join with Warrior and the US Lacrosse Foundation to help boys and girls across the country come to learn and love this great sport,” said Jess Hanson, Brine Lacrosse Product Manager.

“Warrior is proud to join with Brine in providing this record breaking lacrosse equipment donation.  We look forward to further collaboration to grow the sport in the months and years to come,” said Cale Werder, Warrior Lacrosse Brand Manager.

The First Stick program seeks to expand participation beyond traditional boundaries and inspire kids to play hard, dream big and act responsibly within the sport of lacrosse and the game of life.  The First Stick Program delivers comprehensive US Lacrosse developmental and safety resources, equipment, US Lacrosse membership and coach training to awarded teams, who apply for grants. The ultimate goal of each two-year partnership is to develop self-sustaining youth lacrosse programs that operate by US Lacrosse national standards and best practices.

“This donation will help fulfill our mission of putting more sticks in the hands of kids who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience the great game of lacrosse,” said Susie Chase, VP, US Lacrosse Foundation.
