Berg Named to NCAA All-Tournament Team

BALTIMORE, Md. – University of Denver men’s lacrosse junior Wesley Berg (Coquitlam, B.C.) became the third Pioneer in program history to be named to the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse All-Tournament Team.

Berg was the only Pioneer on the list that consisted of players from Duke (6) and Notre Dame (3). For the tournament, Berg finished with seven goals and three assists for 10 points. He also finished with one caused turnover and 10 ground balls.

For the season, Berg led the team with 68 points off 48 goals and 20 assists, while also grabbing 33 ground balls. The junior has accumulated 167 career points, 120 career goals and 47 assists. Berg ranks sixth in the Pioneer Record Books in career points, fifth in career goals and just outside of the top-10 in career assists.

Berg joins former Pioneer Eric Law and current Pioneer senior Jeremy Noble (Orangeville, Ontario) as the only other Pioneers to be named to the All-Tournament Team in program history.

The Pioneers finished the season with a 16-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the NCAA Tournament after falling to top-seeded Duke, 15-12 in the Semifinals.
