WEST POINT, N.Y. – Noto Family Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Kristen Waagbo and her staff finalized Army West Point’s roster for the 2016 season on Tuesday, with the addition of 13 players to include 10 who played on the Black Knights’ club squad last season.

The addition of the 13 players completes Army’s roster for its inaugural varsity season. Waagbo announced the team’s 22-player freshmen class last month.

The Black Knights held a tryout last week for last year’s club players and additional cadets who were interested in earning a spot on the team. Ten players who competed on Army’s club team in 2015 were named to the program’s first-ever varsity roster, while newcomer Rachel Hornick will also join the team after playing on Army’s volleyball team as a freshman.

The women’s lacrosse team also features two additional freshmen in Sean Hurley and Lily McDonough, who earned a spot on the roster during last week’s tryout.

Senior Leah Wasserman and juniors Erin Jollota and Shelby Lindsay will serve as team captains for the Black Knights in 2016.

The Army West Point women’s lacrosse team will play at the Division I level for the first time beginning in the 2015-16 academic year and will compete in the Patriot League for the 2016 season.
