Arcadia Men's Lacrosse Names Inaugural Captains

Glenside, PA (November 8. 2012) - Arcadia Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Andrew Delaney named his 2013 captains as selected by the team. These are the first captains in the history of the program, which will begin NCAA competition on February 20, 2012 when they host Stockton at 7pm on Easton Field. Chris Baines, John Phillips, Francis Eluwa and Mac Weiss will lead the Knights into their first season.

"My staff and I are very excited to announce the first captains in the history of Arcadia Lacrosse," Delaney said. "It is certainly a great honor for these young men, but it is one that they have earned. All four captains have demonstrated to the staff and their teammates the qualities as leaders that we need in setting the foundation of the program. I for one am looking forward to working with this group because each of them bring a unique background and personality that will be an asset in helping the staff move the program forward."

2013 Captains:
Chris Baines #13

John Phillips #19

"As seniors, Chris and John are long time members of the club team and have been instrumental in bringing lacrosse to Glenside," said Delaney. "Their investment in this program is extraordinary and their teammates have recognized that by selecting them as captains. Personally they have been a huge asset for me, hosting a number of recruits that are now teammates."
Francis Eluwa #2
Sophomore - Maplewood, NJ - Defense

"Francis, having spent a year on the club team as a freshman, has shown himself to be an outstanding player with a great work ethic," commented Delaney. "As a sophomore, he has become a vocal leader that our team responds to."

"As a freshman, Mac is in a unique position in being named captain so early in his career," said Delaney. "It is a reflection of his hard work and the relationships that he has built with his teammates to be selected as a leader of our new program."
