All the teams will come together to embrace competition, develop character and enjoy camaraderie in spirit while remembering Parker Jackson, who was killed in a single vehicle accident. Parker’s mother and father, Lauren and Bo Jackson were struck by the number of Parker’s lacrosse teammates and classmates that were led to a deeper faith by Parker’s life. Parker loved making new friends, was passionate about lacrosse and had a big faith. They wanted to find a way for all of those to intersect and decided to pour their energy into founding the Legacy Lacrosse Cup. The tournament aims to continue to honor Parker’s legacy and to communicate to student athletes that they are writing their life story and to make each day lead them in a direction that will lead them to a destination of significance. “To accomplish the level of success we have had is extraordinary and we are extremely grateful for the dedication of the Atlanta lacrosse community and the many volunteers who support our vision to create a first class environment that showcases elite lacrosse while challenging and encouraging students to live lives that leave a positive and inspiring legacy,” said Lauren Jackson, Co-Founder with her husband Bo, of the Legacy Cup. “In the words of Joe Ehrmann, the Legacy Lacrosse Cup 2014 guest speaker, ‘we will know if we have succeeded in about 20 years’”.
