LOS ANGELES – For the fourth consecutive year, UCLA Men’s Lacrosse will play host to the annual Pac-12 Lacrosse Shootout held over Presidents Day Weekend. This year’s event will see ten of the traditional Pac-12 rivals play two games each on UCLA’s North Athletic Field (NAF) and Intramural Field (IM). Admission is free for every game.
“UCLA welcomes Pac-12 lacrosse teams to Westwood for another great Shootout,” said Bruins head coach Jacques Bagley. “There are some great games scheduled and we invite all fans to come to UCLA to watch the Pac-12 teams in action.”
The 2014 Pac-12 Shootout will once again feature some of the top teams not in only in the West, but in the entire country. On Saturday, No. 14 California and No. 19 Oregon State kick off the event, followed by No. 3 Arizona State taking on No. 11 Stanford. Sunday’s schedule is highlighted by No. 19 Oregon State facing No. 23 Arizona, and Stanford against UCLA in the final game of the Shootout.
Coaches from around the Pac-12 are excited to bring their squads to Los Angeles for what is projected to be a beautiful seventy degree February weekend perfect for lacrosse. “This will be our fifth year in a row attending the Pac-12 Lacrosse Shootout,” noted Arizona State head coach Chris Malone. “Our players and fans love the trip and Coach JB does a tremendous job organizing the event. It's always a great way for us to kick off the season.”
Stanford head coach Drew Virk echoed Malone’s sentiments, saying that “Stanford marks the Pac-12 Shootout first on the calendar for every season.
