This past weekend, 12 Notre Dame Men's Lacrosse players were caught doing what everyone does during their first few days of school, partying. Except, there were 12 kids partying in the SAME car. Was it a Ford Excursion? I'm sure the coaches are livid as all get out. The new school year brings an essence of renewal and invigoration to excel on-and-off the field. So far, the team is 1 for 2.

The police report reads:

Twelve Notre Dame students were cited on various charges after their car left a liquor store and was then stopped for littering at South Bend Avenue and Jacob Street. All 12 students were in the same car.

Various infractions were cited, such as all occupants failing to wear their seatbelt, "furnishing alcohol to a minor," and "illegal consumption of alcohol."

The report further states:

All occupants indicated they were members of the Notre Dame Lacrosse team. After receiving citations, they walked to their respective dormitories.

Overall, only one player was of legal age to drink, which makes one think that the kids were incoming freshman. 12 people in ONE car is prittay dangerous. Send the frosh to get the booze for the party right? IDK. Let's just be glad they're safe and didn't hurt anyone else.

Of course, no college is immune to underage consumption, but Notre Dame certainly has not learned from their mishaps.

Regardless these student-athletes made a mistake and seeing this as I am incoming freshman player myself at the collegiate level, it will steer me to make the right decisions coming forward. No one should look down upon the Notre Dame team for this because yes it does happen at every school.

learn from the mistakes of others… these athletes should show more respect for their team and for the sport. good write.

Few points:

- Very ignorant writing this piece and tagging it as “arrests”. 0 people were arrested. Not fair to the kids to blast this fake information all over social media websites.

- Stick to covering lacrosse, that’s what people want to hear.

- One senior was in the car, one junior and ten freshman. Again wrong, not all were seatbelt-less.

- You say “12 cited for alcohol”…1 was driving and received no such citation and 1 was let off for being sober, so again false information.

Get your facts straight if you’re going to call out a program.

Idiots
