Warrior releases Warrior Shooter, new training shoe
Share
Warrior was the first lacrosse company to tackle the lacrosse cleat market, and now they are doing the same for training, becoming the first major lacrosse equipment manufacturer with a lacrosse-specific footwear line dedicated to training.
Warrior continues to make a strong push in the footwear market with the release of two new training shoes this February, the Warrior Shooter and the Warrior Breakr. Today we take a look at the Shooter, which was designed with sport-specific training in mind: designed for multi-directionality, cutting, and the stability needed for the lacrosse athlete.
The sole unit of the Shooter was designed to be versatile. Functions of the sole include plyometric training, stability weight training, and speed and agility training, as well as use for box lacrosse, running, trail running, and any activity on Astroturf. Warrior says that the traction of the sole of the Shooter features more rubber than the majority of training shoes on the market and has traction-specific zones that are conducive to side-to-side movements. The shoe features a lot of mesh in the upper as well as a support saddle that begins at the W and extends to the heel on both sides of the product. The gel-like technology in the heel portion of the shoe is called Serpent–Tek. It’s a highly resilient, cushioning mechanism constructed from SBS, the same material found in many high-grade running shoes on the market. The Warrior Shooters will retail for $85.
The Shooters have been tested on NHL and MLL athletes for the past nine months and will become available at Dicks Sporting Goods and Shopwarrior.com starting February 17, 2010. They will also be available at Total Hockey, Soccer Corner, and other lacrosse specialty stores.
