BALTIMORE, Sept. 9, 2015 — US Lacrosse today opened registration at uslacrosse.org/laxcon<http://www.uslacrosse.org/events/convention-and-fan-fest.aspx> for the annual US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest, set for Jan. 22-24, 2016, in Baltimore. LaxCon represents lacrosse’s largest educational event, trade show and kickoff to the season.
Coaches, officials, and program leaders can register for the full US Lacrosse Convention for as low as $90 for US Lacrosse members and $150 for the general public. Tickets for the US Lacrosse Fan Fest, a portion of LaxCon’s Jan. 23 schedule open to lacrosse fans of all ages, start at $10 per person.
“Central to continuing lacrosse’s nationwide growth is an educated base of coaches and officials to teach the sport to players, and our convention represents the single best event for coaches and officials to learn more about their respective crafts from the best in the sport,” said Beth Porreca, director of events at US Lacrosse.
The US Lacrosse Convention is comprised of approximately 150 educational sessions, many of which occur on four indoor demonstration areas surrounded by seating for attendees. The convention’s expo hall will feature 150 exhibitors, showcasing the latest lacrosse gear and apparel. Nick Myers, head coach of Ohio State and the U.S. U19 men’s team, and Ricky Fried, head coach of Georgetown and the U.S. women’s team, highlight the lineup of speakers to date.
The US Lacrosse Fan Fest will open the expo hall and demonstration areas to the public 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. Numerous US Lacrosse committees and other lacrosse organizations will host business meetings throughout the weekend.
“We are excited to welcome US Lacrosse back to Baltimore in 2016,” said Tom Noonan, President and CEO of Visit Baltimore. “Hosting US Lacrosse gives us a great opportunity to showcase the city’s professional sports venues, meeting facilities and world-class restaurants, museums and attractions to coaches, players and fans from all over the world.”
US Lacrosse has secured discounted rooms for convention attendees and participants at the adjacent Hilton Baltimore, host hotel of LaxCon, for reservations made before Dec. 23. Attendees may reserve parking through Parking Panda.
LaxCon has drawn an average of 7,163 participants each of the last four years, making it the largest gathering of the lacrosse community at a non-field event each year.
Under Armour, STX, Nationwide and Buffalo Wild Wings are sponsors of the US Lacrosse Convention and Fan Fest. Visit Baltimore is the CVB partner. For more information, visit uslacrosse.org/laxcon<http://www.uslacrosse.org/events/convention-and-fan-fest.aspx>.
