University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Looking To Stand Out This Year

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown lacrosse club is heading into their sixth year. Playing in the NCLL Keystone conference the Laxcats are looking to make a name for themselves. They are having longer and more strenuous practices taking it more serious than previous years. They hope to get more recognition from their 3,100 student body and feel that standing out with new shooters and shorts will do the trick.

The Laxcats have been big fans of Proathletics after seeing Frostburg's jerseys last season. Each player paid for their own shooter and pair of shorts which are fully sublimated custom jerseys with their name and number. The design just screams "Pitt-Johnstown Lax." Even the script Pitt font has been updated with a lacrosse ball and head. According to Matt Ziance the student body has already started to take notice of the lax team around campus.

In just a few hours of wearing this across campus, more and more people are realizing we have a lacrosse team at UPJ. It's a good feeling, because now we expect our fundraisers and philanthropic work with HEADstrong will get a huge response.

The Laxcats have definitely turned things around in the offseason and can't wait to open up the year at Frostburg State (MD) on February 28th. The 12 game schedule includes Slippery Rock, PITT, IUP, Lock Haven, Penn State-Altoona, St. Francis, Frostburg, Liberty U and Bloomsburg.
