Performance Brand’s Exclusive Mouthwear Licensee, Bite Tech, Develops First-Ever Microwaveable, Boilable, Re-Fittable and Chew Resistant Mouthguard Collection
Baltimore, MD – Under Armour (NYSE:UA), the leading sports performance apparel, footwear, and accessories brand, today introduces the first-of-its-kind microwaveable, boilable, re-fittable and chew resistant line of mouthguards with Bite Tech Inc., the exclusive licensee of Under Armour Performance MouthwearTM. The new ArmourFitTM line of custom fit mouthguards utilizes the most significant material innovation in the mouthguard industry in the last 50 years.
Made from a patented material entirely new to mouthguard manufacturing, the UA ArmourFit Mouthguard and UA Braces Mouthguard mold to teeth and gums providing athletes with an “at home” tight, comfortable, dentist-like custom fit. With this custom fit, athletes wearing the UA ArmourFit Mouthguard or UA Braces Mouthguard are able to easily breathe and talk, enabling better on field performance and communication. The chew resistant quality of the new ArmourFit material increases durability and ensures the mouthguard maintains its protective integrity. The re-fittable feature allows athletes or parents to re-fit the mouthguard after a lost tooth, braces adjustment, or for any other reason, thus ensuring a proper fit and maximum protection to the teeth, jaw and gums.
ArmourFit mouthguards are designed for all contact sports, including football, hockey, lacrosse and rugby. Additionally, the dentist-like fit provides a comfortable protective advantage to the teeth, jaw and gums for athletes engaged in limited contact sports, such as soccer, basketball, baseball and volleyball.
“It’s no secret that safety concerns are understandably a major issue in contact sports today. Coaches, parents and players are learning that the mouthguards they receive as part of their ‘equipment pick up’ provide very little protection, fit poorly and just don’t last. With the launch of the new UA ArmourFit and UA Braces Mouthguards, Under Armour and Bite Tech are providing the highest levels of innovation and product materials to deliver parents, coaches and players products that are superior in design, protection, fit and durability.” said Jeff Padovan, CEO of Bite Tech Inc.
