While all good wood shafts are significantly heavier than their more modern counterparts, they do give a nicer balance point in my opinion. Being made of ash, the Timberstix shaft is a bit lighter than lots of other wood shafts that I have tried, giving it a very nice feel in your hands when a head is on it. The shaft has a nice sanded down wood feel that is lightly coated, that along with the slightly rounded standard octagon feel gives the shaft a good grip in your hand.

The durability on the Timberstix shaft is very good. I used this shaft for a few hard fought games towards the end of my Sr. B box season for defense and it held up great. Besides a few small, insignificant dents, the shaft is in perfect condition after throwing a bunch of cross checks with it. The shaft also has a bit of flex when shooting and dampens the impact when you get hit or hit with the shaft, which were nice small additions.
The Timberstix shaft is priced at $46, which is significantly cheaper than most modern shafts, but a bit more expensive than some other wood shafts on the market. Overall, I liked the Timberstix shaft a lot and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wood shaft that is a bit lighter than most others on the market, especially box players who need a shaft that holds up to constant abuse but don't want to add as much weight to their stick.
