The STX Stallion 600

STX challenged us to review their Stallion 600 helmet and it’s a huge upgrade from last year. It's still the only quality air bladder helmet on the market for lacrosse.

Sight-Line- 10 out of 10
Easily the best feature of this helmet the sight-line is great.

Protection- 8.5 out of 10
The helmet handled some heavy impacts really well, but I have concerns with gaps towards the rear of the helmet and neck. The dropped jaw adds protection over last years model.

Comfort- 7 out of 10
At first I thought this was going to be 10 out of 10 it was super comfortable as I sized the helmet. Once it’s worn for an hour or so it becomes apparent there is one pad in the forehead area that either needs to be broken-in. While this is a negative for my noggin, it may be a benefit for you. Everyone's head is different, so I recommend trying before you buy. Everywhere else on the helmet is really comfortable at first, but this one pad in the front for me. It is getting better as I wear it more (watching TV in my house is weird, OK?).

Weight- 8 out of 10
Helmets are getting heavier in your hand to protect your head but the balance on the helmet makes it feel light when worn. It’s not significantly heavier than any top level helmet so I’m going with Average.

Overall- 8.3 out of 10
The 2015 model was a 6.5, so this years is climbing the ranks, the style grows on you and the function is there guys. If you like a air bladder feel or need a custom size, this is the helmet for you.
