Ray Lewis's Inspiring Speech to the Loyola Greyhounds Men's Lacrosse Team

The Loyola Men's Lacrosse team stays true to its roots. This past week, the team received an enormous amount of support from Under Armour athlete and Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis. Lewis has become famous off the field for his hair-raising speeches. Unlike Johns Hopkins, who had New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick give a speech prior to this weekend's NCAA Quarterfinal game, the Greyhounds sought inspiration from their backyard.

It might have been that extra inch of inspiration from Lewis that propelled Loyola on Saturday afternoon to advance to next weekend's NCAA Semifinals for the first time since 1998. Eric Lusby scored five goals and had a career-high seven points, while J.P. Dalton won 17-of-22 faceoffs, as the top-seeded Loyola University Maryland Men's Lacrosse team defeated the University of Denver, 10-9.

Legendary NFL linebacker Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens visited the Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse team before its practice on Wednesday, May 16, to give a talk prior to the Greyhounds' NCAA Quarterfinals game.
