The Minnesota Golden Gophers worked with new equipment at practice this week. The new equipment is highlighted by the arrival of Maverik Rome gloves. We would be remiss not to mention the Twin Cities Skyline decal on the Pro7 helmet designed by Northstar Lacrosse. The entire equipment and uniforms boldly display the Maroon and Gold.
The Gophers put the skyline on the back of their helmet because the University of Minnesota is in the Twin Cities. That is the view of the skyline from their stadium, TCF Bank Stadium, and they felt the skyline represents their school, as it is an urban school. They have received some flak as to whether they can "pull off" the skyline, but they feel deserving of it because their school is located 1-2 miles from those buildings.
