Millon lacrosse camps and Warrior are partnering up to provide up to $15,000 in retail value lacrosse equipment, footwear, and apparel to young lacrosse players in the Long Island area that were stricken by Super Storm Sandy. Families can request items such as protective equipment as well as select non-uniform apparel items that may have been lost or destroyed in the storm.

Sandy is one of the largest and fiercest storms ever to affect the Northeastern U.S. The total cost of the storm is likely to top 30 Billion and left over 8 million people without power. Two weeks after the storm nearly 200,000 Long Islanders were still without power. Especially hard hit was the South Shore of Long Island where lacrosse is a way of life.

“I grew up on Long Island, a lot of my closest friends and my family is still there, I still consider it home. As I watched all the devastation on T.V and people started reaching out to me explaining how the lacrosse community has been affected I knew I wanted to do something to help” said Mark Millon.

In order to receive replacement gear you will need to follow the step by step instructions that are posted at http://www.facebook.com/millonlacrossecamp or http://millonlacrosse.com/sandy-charity-procedures or by calling 877-LAX-CAMP. We ask that requests are made based on need only. It is likely that we will not be able to replace your loss with the exact item or same model.

“I just ask that people be patient with the process. Our goal is to help as many people as possible but folks have to realize that we may not be able to assist everyone with a request” said John Schiavone, Director of Operations at Millon lacrosse.

“The losses on Long Island and the entire Tri-state area are staggering, if we can help in some small way to brighten a kid's day that may have lost more than just his lacrosse equipment that’s our goal here” said Greg Cattrano, General Manager, Warrior Sports.
