The Mercer University Men’s Lacrosse program has officially hit the ground running. This year there are 23 new players on the team. This is clearly a reflection on head coach, Kyle Hannan, who arrived in Macon, GA, just one year ago. He has pushed the boys to compete at all times, in the classroom and on the field. Hannan says, “During my short time at Mercer, I am most proud of the significant development in building a culture for success. The players have committed to excellence in the community, on the field and in the classroom."
The team has been working extremely hard and are very motivated to improve. The players have been issued fall gear already and Adidas really hooked them up. Their cleats for speed and agility work focuses on becoming “CrazyQuick." The team gets to throw these pinnies over the pads every day. The sublimated graphics from Stylin’ Strings help keep the weight of the jersey very light, crucial for playing in the Georgia heat. As always, safety is first in lacrosse, which is exactly why the team will be wearing the Cascade R this year. Lastly, they have the dry fit practice shirt with the added touch of a sleeve logo.
The team will continue to learn and compete on the practice field this fall. Hannan says, “We look forward to getting a chance to compete in the young, but strong, Atlantic Sun Conference."
