NEW YORK — Today Maverik is pleased to launch their latest instructional video starring Maverik Athlete and UMBC standout Peet Poillon.
"Learning to use your defender as an asset, and having them act as a screen on your shot, is a technique that can be used at any level, and increase your scoring ability in every game, " said Poillon.
In this edition of Maverik University, Poillon demonstrates his approach to using his defender as a screen, and explains different dodging and shooting techniques that will help you elevate your game.
"Peet is a passionate ambassador to the game of lacrosse and has elevated the play of the youth in his native Pittsburgh like few have. He is one of the most exciting players to watch. His quickness and stick skills keep you entertained every time he touches the ball," said Maverik Sports Marketing Director Paul Carcaterra.
During his senior year at UMBC, Poillon led the team in scoring with 26 goals and 21 assists, earned second-team All-American honors, an America East title and a bid to the NCAA tournament. Peet has gone on to star in Major League Lacrosse, and is a current member of the Charlotte Hounds.
