Maverik and CityLax Donate Equipment to 15 NY H.S. Teams

Long Island City, NY – October 7, 2009 – Maverik Lacrosse and CityLax will once again team together this fall to provide fifteen teams in the five boroughs of New York with much needed equipment to help them compete during the fall and upcoming Spring 2010 season.

“We are very grateful for the support Maverik has provided our program over the years,” said Mat Levine, CEO and President of CityLax. "John has been extremely generous with his donation of equipment and shares in our goal to make lacrosse accessible to any kid who wants to pick up a stick here in New York City."

"Mat’s drive and determination to make the sport of lacrosse accessible to kids in the inner-city is truly commendable," said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. "I am really amazed to see how fast his CityLax program has grown lacrosse and how his dedicated group of volunteer coaches continue to use our sport to change the lives of so many kids."

About CityLax
CityLax is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse in New York City working directly with the Public School system and community-based organizations. Using a character-based strategy of program development, we are currently focused on introducing/expanding lacrosse into New York City schools and geographies that historically have had little or no access to the game and that are predominantly comprised of populations from lower income families.
