Each week Lacrosse Playground will be featuring a different lacrosse athlete as part of our "Grip 'N Rip" series, where we'll find out what the best use to fine tune their game. This week we are featuring Joe Cinosky, Toronto Nationals defenseman and a member of the 2010 U.S. Men's training team. He's used to throwing some lumber, which explains why he needs a handle he can bend back to shape.

What head are you currently using?
Right now I am using a Navy Blue Brine Edge X.

Handle?
Warrior Titan Classic.

Who is your stick doctor?
Ever since I was little I have strung my own sticks.

Where does your pocket sit/what type of pocket to you prefer?
High pocket with a little whip for tough GB's.

What kind of mesh do you use (Hard, soft, traditional/leathers, marc , etc.)? Why?
Hard mesh, but I usually restring my sticks after every couple of weeks because they break in too much.

What is your preferred glove?
I prefer any Warrior glove becuase they fit well with no plams.

How much whip does your stick have?
Enough.

Anything unique you do to your head or handle?
I use my helmet to straighten handles after I bend them throwing checks.

How long do you keep a stick before you get a new one?
I go through a lot of handles. In two games at (MLL) Championship weekend in Annapolis I broke four.

What’s most important to you in a stick/what makes a good stick?
I prefer my stick to be top heavy so I can feel the ball better. The handle needs to be flexible too, so I can bend them back easily.
