Grip ‘N Rip: Chesapeake Bayhawks Jeremy Sieverts

Lacrosse Playground, every once in awhile, features a different lacrosse athlete as part of our “Grip ‘N Rip” series, where we’ll find out what the best use to fine tune their game. Today we feature Chesapeake Bayhawk midfielder, Jeremy Sieverts. Jeremy and the Bayhawks face the Boston Cannons this weekend in the MLL playoffs. We wanted to see what he was working with.

When did you start stringing sticks? Have you altered your pocket since you began?

I started stringing my own sticks in high school, and have done so ever since. I've changed up the way I string my sticks over the years trying to find something I really like, and when I strung my stick with two U's a couple of years ago I loved it and stuck with it.

What especially do you like about your pocket?

It has a pretty small pocket, with a lot of hold, and a fair amount of whip.

Head of choice?

The head is an Evo Pro 2.0. Using Proton Power's all throughout college (Maryland) made the transition to a Warrior head a little difficult, but I think I finally figured it out.

I noticed you have a dyed mesh. Any story behind it?

Usually I play with a dyed head, but I didn't have time to get this one done before we played Long Island a few weeks ago, which is the reason behind the blue mesh.
