The E.C. Glass Hilltoppers had LaxFactor create their varsity & JV shooting shirts. So it’s no wonder to anyone familiar with LaxFactor and the work we do that they probably look pretty good taking the field.

Apparently they play as good as they look because they just took down the previously unbeaten Salem Spartans 14-11 last week. E.C. Glass fell behind 11-8 with only 3:50 left in the 3rd quarter. A goal by Hunt McCarthy (assisted by Bruce Carrington) at the 3:30 mark got the Hilltoppers back within 2 and started off a barrage of six unanswered goals that resulted in the program’s huge win.

McCarthy finished the game with 5 goals and 3 assists and the E.C. Glass defense led by seniors Austin McCrory, Holmes Laughon, John Osinga and Brian Davies are credited with holding Salem at bay and not allowing Salem to score for the final fifteen minutes of the contest.

E.C. Glass has gotten off to a hot start. With 8 wins and only a single loss they are currently ranked 11th in the state of Virginia by LaxPower.com’s computer ratings with their only loss coming to the 6th ranked Albemarle Patriots.

They host winless William Fleming on 4/25 and then play #2 ranked Battlefield Bobcats (currently undefeated at 10-0) on 4/27.

We wish them the best of luck through the rest of their season and look forward to posting the results from their game vs. Battlefield which is being played at a neutral site.
