Chapman University steamrolled through most of SidelineSwap’s March Madness contest, but things got interesting in the final hours of the championship matchup. Dallas Select, well known for their last minute come from behind wins, closed a 500 vote gap with only three hours left in the two week long contest. If there were time-outs in this contest, Chapman could have used one. They needed some help to swing the momentum back in their favor.
Time-outs weren’t an option, but Chapman had another secret weapon. Connor Martin aka Con Bro Chill is a Chapman alum and his retweets to 13k loyal followers rallied Chapman when they needed it most. Chapman had incredible support the whole contest, and the boost they received from Martin pushed them over the edge.
Chapman will take home a prize package from Streaker Sports, a plaque for the locker room commemorating their victory, and a year’s worth of bragging rights for coming out on top.
Second place finisher, Dallas Select, won t-shirts from Uniformswag and snapbacks from SidelineSwap. Congratulations to Dallas Select and the whole StickStar program out of Dallas, Texas. They made an incredible run and almost took home the title.
University of Central Florida kicked it up a notch in the consolation match and ran way with the win over UCLA. Congratulations to both teams on a great tournament and good luck to both the rest of this season! UCF won a 5-piece set of mesh from Mass Mesh.
Thanks to all the teams that participated in this year’s contest!
