Golden Gate Bridge Photoshoot with Eric Martin

Earlier this spring I was contacted by US Lacrosse Magazine to shoot their first ever 'West Coast' cover featuring good friend and former teammate, Eric Martin. 'EMart' as we call him, was just named to Team USA (who just won gold a few weeks back) and was down for giving the magazine an 'edgier' shoot than maybe they were used to.

I feel that lacrosse is an aesthetically amazing looking sport. My goal was to show the lacrosse world that the sport could be captured and promoted in any 'edgy' way and not look corny or cheesy.

Up to the challenge, 'Emart', myself, and my assistant hit the San Francisco streets looking for a great backdrop to put our 'highly animated' subject in front of. The art director wanted something that was 'undeniably' San Fran...so of course, we hit the Golden Gate Bridge for what ended up being the cover shot.

Here's some pics that made the mag along with some that hit the editing room floor.

In 2008 former professional lacrosse player, Zach Heffner formed his own photography company so he could pursue his own unique style and brand of image making. A few years later, Verdict Photography is now a premiere commercial photography studio located in California. Specializing in commercial portraiture, Zach's work features many elite athletes and has appeared in magazine covers and in national print ads. Zach hopes to use his 'edgy' style of photography to help promote the sport of lacrosse within mainstream media. Titled 'EXPOSURE', these blog posts will showcase Zach's recent work and how he is helping lacrosse to get more of what it needs...exposure.
