Game Photos: Syracuse vs Virginia

Redshirt junior Tim Desko (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a career-best five goals to lead top-ranked Syracuse (3-0) to a 12-10 victory over co-No. 1 Virginia (4-1) at the Carrier Dome on Friday, March 4. Desko scored three of Syracuse’s five second-half goals to propel the Orange to its first regular-season win against the Cavaliers since 2004.

A crowd of 14,340 was on hand to witness the triumph, the largest crowd in college lacrosse this season and the fourth-largest gathering to see a regular-season game in the Dome.

“I like playing in front of big crowds and it was a big game today,” Desko said. “I take whatever I can get (from the defense) and it worked out well today. We did a great job overall as a team.”

Virginia wore Blue tops and bottoms. Blue Cascade Pro7 helmet with Orange chin. Cavalier swords logo and the players numbers were displayed on the sides of their helmets. Virginia is wearing Gait Recon gloves this season. Orange/Navy Blue colorway, Virginia emblazoned on the floating cuff. Cavalier logo and number displayed on the multi-flex cuff.

The Orange sported retro uniforms for the game … The team wore White nylon mesh jerseys and Blue shorts similar to the uniform combination worn by the squad in the early 2000s … SU also donned White helmets with Blue visors that featured the interlocking "SU" logo from the same time period. A few players were spotted playing with Chrome heads such as captain Joel White and JoJo Marasco who is now wearing the famed No. 22 jersey.

Players also wore Nike Air Zoom Huarache II Cleats, Nike Vapor Elite gloves and STX Assault gloves (seen below).
